MICROBLADING

Microblading is a form of permanent cosmetic tattooing. A single use, disposable, sterile needle grouping is used to make tiny little scratches on the skin in the pattern of natural eyebrow hair into the dermis layer of the skin. Pigment is applied and the area is then left to heal. The finished result is a fuller, more defined natural looking eyebrow.

HOW DOES MICROBLADING WORK?

A single use, disposable, sterile needle grouping is used to make tiny little scratches on the skin in the pattern of natural eyebrow hair into the dermis layer of the skin. Pigment is applied and the area is then left to heal. The finished result is a fuller, more defined natural looking eyebrow. Sometimes a stippling technique or a tattoo machine with a needle grouping is used to fill in the brow area for a more natural look. This is what we call shading or a powder effect.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  • Who would benefit from this?

Anyone who would enjoy having their eyebrows enhanced. Whether its from over plucking, natural aging, or a health condition many women and men wish they had more attractive eyebrows. Sparse and shapeless brows can be transformed to make you eyes stand out for a more youthful, well rested look. It will help you save time in your morning makeup routine by giving you a beautiful template. Some clients will always wish to continue adding a little makeup here and there to their brows but now they have a template to quickly and easily follow. No more 20 minute draw-on sessions every time you leave the house! Permanent eyeliner and eyebrows are wonderful for clients who may be allergic to traditional makeup, have failing vision or who have trouble with arthritis.

  • What is the appointment process?

A typical appointment lasts about 2 hours. You will fill out some quick paperwork and we will discuss your desired look. Please bring pictures if you have a particular look in mind. My style is to keep it natural and to enhance what you already naturally have so while I can not give you someone else brows I can make yours the very best version of you! I will take a before picture, apply numbing cream then let you relax for about 30 minutes. After that I will draw on a shape using various measuring tools and my artistic eye. We will then choose a color together and then start the procedure. It takes about 30 mins and I numb during the procedure as well. After we are done I will take your after picture, go over aftercare instructions and then you are on your way! I will see you back for your 2nd session in about 6-8 weeks.

  • Does it hurt?

Not really. I cannot guarantee a completely discomfort free experience but all my clients tell me, “It’s really not bad at all.” I use a variety of topical numbing creams before and during the procedure. You may feel a little discomfort at the very beginning but I quickly apply more numbing cream, at this point most all clients go completely numb on the brow area. Eyeliner is naturally a bit more sensitive.

  • What is the healing process like?

The healing process takes about 10 days. During this time your brows will go from dark to light then back again. You may experience some flakey, patchy looking brows as the tattoo is healing. You will need to do your best to keep the area clean, dry and away from direct sunlight during the 10 days. Two sessions are required for brows and occasionally a 3rd is needed depending on your desired look, skin type and starting point. 2 sessions are standard. Please plan accordingly if you have a special event coming up.

MICROBLADING EYEBROWS POST-CARE:

• MICROBLADING EYEBROWS IS A “DRY HEAL” DO NOT GET WET, AND NO SWEATING FOR 3 DAYS

• DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring and pigment loss!

• COMPLETELY avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for a minimum of 4 weeks after your procedure. Direct sunlight can cause the pigment to change color while it is healing and can also cause hyper pigmentation and scarring.

• Avoid pool, sauna, steam rooms, hot showers and/or hot baths for 3 weeks.

• Avoid sweating for a full 10 days. Any physical effort, gym, hot weather, any other activity that may cause sweating through or on the brows will cause the “hairstrokes” to blur under the skin, there is no fixing this.

• Avoid sleeping on your face/brows for the first 10 days.

• NO makeup or skincare products to be used on the treated area for two weeks.

• NO facials, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

• After 10 days, once the area has healed completely, consider using sunblock when going out in the sun to stop the color from fading.

• Eyebrow tinting should not be undertaken for 2 weeks after your procedure.

• Avoid Retin-A, Chemical Peels and Microderms around the brow area once healed.

• AVOID ANY SKINCARE THAT HAS THE WORDS “ACID” “RETIN A” “GLYCOL” ON THE AREA TREATED! Look in your foundations and primers too, its in things that say “long lasting” or “Forever”

EYEBROWS- Typical Effects

Day 1-2 The eyebrows are approximately 20 to 25% darker and bolder in width than they will be when healed. Your skin is red under the pigment which causes the color of the pigment to appear darker. There is some swelling, although difficult to see due to the thickness of the skin in the eyebrow area. This will subside. Exfoliation, which begins in a few days, will cause the excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow procedure to flake away and a more narrow appearance will result. New skin will heal over the pigmented area and result in a softer appearance of your eyebrows. Don’t be concerned that your eyebrows initially appear darker and heavier in size than you desire. This is all part of the process.

Day 3 Eyebrows will start to itch and will appear a bit thicker in texture. Natural exfoliation begins., do not exfoliate yourself.

Day 4 The skin begins to flake- peeling from the outside edges first.

Day 5 Color finishes flaking off and appears softer and greyer for 8 weeks until color clarifies.
